My family and I moved to Boise, Idaho from Kenai, Alaska over 3 years ago. We soon called it home after falling in love with all that Idaho has to offer (which includes the amazing neighbors and friends we are so lucky to have here).

During this time I’ve had great opportunities working in the Treasure Valley area as a Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN and Nutritionist . These experiences have shown me more now than ever before, how much of a need there is in preventative care.

My desire to learn about nutrition and health started as a teenager when I struggled to conceptualize what healthy looks like and what it truly means to be healthy. After high school graduationI I moved to Oregon to venture out. Being surrounded by others who embraced integrative health and living off the land further sparked my interest in nutrition.

A few quick years went by when I decided to attended Oregon State University, where I completed my Bachelors of Science in Nutrition Health Sciences and minor in Chemistry in 2014. While attending OSU I had the opportunity to work as a student research assistant at the Linus Pauling Institute and partake as a volunteer at Kids in Motion (cooking and exercise classes for children).

After graduation I moved to Austin, Texas were I worked as a nutritionist. While doing so, I realized I wanted to have a more in-depth and clinical understanding of what health is. I returned to school back home in Alaska and completed my degree in nursing, becoming a registered nurse in 2017.

Over the last seven years I have noticed an increase in chronic illnesses that are related to diet and lifestyle. Yet, in a standard healthcare setting, prevention is not at the forefront. I was recently compelled to pursue my passion as a career after my son developed gastrointestinal issues. It was his healing process that made me realize the vast shortcomings in healthcare when it comes to diet and lifestyle. Nothing is more exciting than being a part of that change and learning from those who share the same passion.
